DRUMMER DJ PRODUCER

Nato in Sicilia, comincia a suonare le percussioni all’età di soli 12 anni e a 16 si trasferisce a Milano per studiare percussioni e batteria al C.P.M. (Centro Professione Musica) seguito da Gilson Silveira.

Fonda il primo gruppo “KEBANA” una miscela di Reggae e Ska, insieme al fratello, partecipando a numerosi festival e facendo da supporter a Manu Chao, Mau Mau, Africa Unite, Sud Sound System, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Max Romeo ecc ecc.

Un ottimo inizio che lo riporta in Sicilia per collaborare con diversi gruppi come Banda Ionica, La Casbah, Boo Boo Vibration.

Nel 2000 entra a far parte come batterista di ROY PACI & ARETUSKA e nel 2003 e nel 2005 escono rispettivamente “Tuttapposto” e “Parola d’onore” per l’etichetta V2, con i quali, oltre che in qualità di batterista, fa da assistente di produzione. Nel 2009 lo troviamo in tour come batterista e percussionista del progetto “Il terrone, l’ebreo e lo zingaro” con ROY PACI, FRANK LONDON E LA BOBAN & MARKO MARKOVIC ORKESTRA a rappresentare la musica dei Balcani.

Una carriera ricca di palcoscenici mondiali lo vede protagonista di eventi come “Sziget festival”, “Paleo Festival”, “Summerjam”, “Werchter Festival”, “Rototom Sunsplash”, “Festivalbar”, “MTV day”, “Stasera pago io” Rai1 con Fiorello, fa parte della band di “Zelig” su canale 5 per 3 anni, “Marchette” su La7 con la conduzione di Piero Chiambretti. La sua musica è passata dalle Radio più influenti come Radio Deejay, Radio Due, Rock TV nell’ambito Italiano e alle Radio più significative a livello mondiale.

Il suo studio discografico è il luogo dal quale nascono le sue produzioni, ricche di influenze e sonorità globali partendo dalla cadenza in levare del Reggae-Ska che unendosi alle battute tipiche del Funk, ai chiari riferimenti Afrocentrici e il caloroso Jazz Latino, di certo non trova spazio a limiti nel campo musicale. I suoi Beat di oggi lo vedono incentrato su collaborazioni estere dal calibro di Nidia Gongora, Lone Ranger, Skarra Mucci, Steppa Style ed il suo archivio è in continua evoluzione verso uno stile indefinito ma piuttosto aperto musicalmente a tutto tondo. La gavetta, l’esperienza ed il giro del mondo fanno di lui un artista poliedrico incentrato sul bisogno personale e quindi collettivo dei suoi ascoltatori, di produrre musica che unisca energie e tradizioni multietniche con l’unico obiettivo di creare brani dal ritmo elevato capace di far smuovere i fianchi nelle più cool dance floor.

Born in Sicily, he began playing percussion at the age of only 12 and at 16 he moved to Milan to study percussion and drums at the C.P.M. (Music Profession Center) followed by Gilson Silveira.
He founded the first group “KEBANA” a mixture of Reggae and Ska, together with his brother, participating in numerous festivals and supporting Manu Chao, Mau Mau, Africa Unite, Sud Sound System, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Max Romeo etc. etc.
An excellent start that brings him back to Sicily to collaborate with different groups such as Banda Ionica, La Casbah, Boo Boo Vibration.
In 2000 he joined as a drummer of ROY PACI & ARETUSKA and in 2003 and 2005 respectively released “Tuttapposto” and “Parola d’onore” for the V2 label, with which, in addition to being a drummer, he acts as production assistant. In 2009 we find him on tour as a drummer and percussionist of the project “The southerner, the Jew and the Gypsy” with ROY PACI, FRANK LONDON AND LA BOBAN & MARKO MARKOVIC ORKESTRA representing the music of the Balkans.

A career full of world stages sees him protagonist of events such as “Sziget festival”, “Paleo Festival”, “Summerjam”, “Werchter Festival”, “Rototom Sunsplash”, “Festivalbar”, “MTV day”, “Stasera pago io” Rai1 with Fiorello, is part of the band of “Zelig” on channel 5 for 3 years, “Marchette” on La7 with the conduct of Piero Chiambretti. His music has passed from the most influential radios such as Radio Deejay, Radio Due, Rock TV in the Italian context and to the most significant radios worldwide.

His recording studio is the place from which his productions are born, rich in global influences and sounds starting from the upbeat cadence of Reggae-Ska which joining the typical beats of Funk, the clear Afrocentric references and the warm Latin Jazz, certainly not finds room for limits in the musical field. Today’s Beat sees him focused on foreign collaborations from the caliber of Nidia Gongora, Lone Ranger, Skarra Mucci, Steppa Style and his archive is constantly evolving towards an indefinite but rather open musically all-round style. The apprenticeship, the experience and the tour of the world make him a multifaceted artist focused on the personal and therefore collective need of his listeners, to produce music that combines energies and multiethnic traditions with the sole objective of creating high-paced songs capable of move your hips on the coolest dance floors.
